First Kiss ~ Excerpt from ' A Code of Love'

His arms wrapped around her waist and he pulled her on top of him. Being inebriated didn’t have any effect on his strength. Abbie was pressed against his hard body. “They killed me, didn’t they? I’m in heaven and my reward is to kiss you.”

Before she could protest, his lips touched hers. Gently. He sighed. “Pillow soft. Just as they look.” He traced his tongue along the border of her lips. Abbie was mesmerized by his tenderness and leaned closer, wanting to know how it felt to be kissed by the infamous Jack Bonnington. She had no experience with men, but she imagined when Jack Bonnington was awake, his kisses would be quite memorable.

“Open your mouth for me, sweetheart.”

His rough words sparked something in Abbie. She softened against him, wanting more of what he offered.

His tongue searched her mouth tasting and testing then he thrust his tongue in and out. Abbie wiggled against him, wanting something unknown. Her tongue touched his.

His breath quickened and his hands grabbed her bottom, pulling her against him, as he thrust his hardness against her. Then his breath roughened, his hands dropped, and he lay still.

She opened her eyes and looked down. He had passed out in the middle of their embrace. Her first kiss and the notorious man had passed out.

A Code of Honor now on audio

A Code of Honor, book 6 in my Regency romantic suspense series, the Code Breakers, is now available on audio. Narrated by Pearl Hewitt, the story becomes a whole new experience to enjoy!

If you are new to audiobooks, you can sign up for a free trial of Audible and select A Code of Honor as one of your free choices to get started.

Enter the emotional, suspenseful Regency world of USA Today best-selling author Jacki Delecki’s Code Breakers spy series. Undaunted by danger or scandal, these intrepid lords and ladies discover true love as they risk it all to save England from Napoleon’s treacherous designs.

Duty before desire…honor before truth.

Miss Abigail Lyon wants an education, not a husband. A respectable match would redeem her family’s besmirched reputation from her sister’s scandalous elopement, although surely none of the ton’s eligible bachelors count curiosity as a desirable trait in a wife. Abbie finds herself confronting an offer that may be too good to be true.

Jack Bonnington is a rake turned spy, recruited by the Crown to ferret out a traitor. To provide a cover for his clandestine mission, he must pursue the very brilliant and beautiful Miss Abigail. The ruse takes a dangerous turn when they discover their secret is at risk of being exposed. Is the heightened passion a pretense or a prelude to something more dangerous? Can a man bound by honor to his country and a woman ensnared by duty to her family accomplish an impossible mission that gives them the freedom to love and live as they choose?

Available on Audible and Amazon Audio.

Yay, it's release day! Now what?

A writer’s work is never done.

There isn’t really a saying like that, but there should be. Why? Because even when a book is finished, the job isn’t over. There’s always another book to be written, another story to be told.

I recently released Mission: Impossible to Forget. It was months of research, writing, editing, and rewriting. After investing hundreds of hours and a big part of my heart in the story, I released it to my readers. Even thought it wasn’t my first book, every launch is a momentous event that fills an author with pride and anxiety–Will readers like it? Was it a good story? Could it have been any better?

Happily, the reviews for Emily and Nick’s story are strong. It’s heartwarming and exhilarating to read reviews like these:

“This story has it all going on suspense, kidnappings, murders, loving ex-military brothers, a cello, a feisty heroine, romance and a dog.” —Angela, Goodreads

“Five stars! Secrets, lies and danger around every corner. Loved this book.” —Sue, Goodreads

One of the things I love about this series, and admire the author for, is the way she tells each characters story with scene overlaps that gives you a real sense of the timeline in which they are happening. As you read each book in the series you are able to easily fill in the gaps and feel more connected to the characters.”  —SIMATSU, Amazon

I’m still enjoying the Mission: Impossible to Forget ride, but there’s another roller coaster beckoning. It is the next story waiting to be told.

A May Day Code for Love is part of a Regency romance box set coming out on May 5th. I’m shifting from contemporary romantic suspense to Regency romantic suspense, but I love the Code Breakers world and the characters who reside there.

I hope you’ll come along for the ride. It’s always more fun with friends!

Basso profundo. With deep tessitura. ~ Excerpt from 'Mission: Impossible to Forget'

Emily was having the best dream. Nick whispered to her, his musky male scent and warmth enveloping her in a cocoon of safety. She didn’t want this dream to end, but she already knew he would leave her alone and afraid.

“Emily. Wake up, honey.”

She moaned at the sound of his melodic bass voice— the rich and flawless tone resonated in his highly developed chest muscles.

“Emily.”

She lingered in the pleasure. “Basso profundo. With deep tessitura.”

“Honey, you’re dreaming about your music. Wake up.”

She reached for him, rubbing her hand along his rough stubble. It felt exactly as she remembered. “This dream feels so real. Kiss me, Nick. I want to feel your lips on mine.”

She felt his soft lips brush across hers. She opened her mouth, wanting to taste him. She’d never forget his tender and demanding kisses. “Please, Nick.”

“Emily, you need to wake up.” He used the rumbly sexy voice she liked.

Why was he insisting she wake when she was happy? She felt a rough hand on her arm. She opened her eyes, trying to orient herself. What tour…What hotel was this? Stella began licking Emily’s face.

“We need to get going.”

What was wrong? Nick’s voice had gone from soft to fortissimo loud.

“Emily, wake up.”

“Nick?” Her dream had conjured the real Nick.

“Yes. It’s Nick.” Now he sounded irritated. What had she done?

More Than Friends? ~ Excerpt from 'Mission: Impossible to Love'

Nick Jenkins climbed the stairwell to Emily’s second floor apartment, playing every scenario in his mind. What if Ben and Emily were in the bedroom? Undressed. He shut down the idea. He would deliver Reeves’ message, he’d get answers to reassure himself that she was safe, and then get the hell out of there.

His heart was ratcheting all over the place. This was never the way he expected to see Emily. He planned to see her at his brother’s wedding months from now as a distant stranger. The one thing he learned from all the losses he endured over the years: Time helped everything. But he wasn’t going to get the bloody time and distance.

He reached the top step. And his eyes couldn’t take in the sight. Emily was in the arms of a tall blond dude in the hallway across from her apartment. Not Ben, the famous singer. Where was her date?

By the way her head rested against the guy’s muscular chest, they were more than friends.

Red flashing lights exploded in front of Nick’s eyes. His finely-tuned control over his body and his delusion that he was over Emily shattered into primitive and possessive rage.

“What the hell?”
