Out of Control ~ Excerpt from 'Mission: Impossible to Forget'

He wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her against his body. Her every curve pressed against him, teasing him. “Emily, I’m barely in control. It isn’t the way I want our first time after how I’ve screwed up. I want you to be treated the way you deserve.”

“Having you out of control is perfect—not thinking, not protecting, but you as a man, needing me as your mate, your woman. Not the responsible US Marine captain, but Nick Jenkins, the man who needs my love.”

Emily, her head and shoulders thrown back, her mane of dark curls flowing around him, was like an avenging goddess. She was a force to be reckoned with, and he was the man who’d step up.

“I was so bitter and exhausted when I came to Sausalito. And there you were, all light and joy. I’ve been lost without you.”

She cupped his face into her hand. “I’m here now. And I’m not leaving, no matter what crazy ass ideas you get about protecting me from yourself. Take me how you would have if we hadn’t been interrupted. How you fantasized.”

He slanted his mouth over hers and kissed her with everything he had while he walked her back until she reached the bedroom wall. He gripped both her hands in one of his and forced them over her head, opening her to his stare, his touch.

“I’ve dreamed about punishing you for making me want a life I could never have with you. For ruining me for any other woman or any other future without you.” He kissed her, stroking his tongue against hers before he lifted her against the wall.

She clasped her hands behind his neck and locked her ankles at the small of his back. Nick shifted his hold, lifting her, aligning their bodies for the perfect fit. Heat burned through him. In that moment, he felt as if he had been cold all his life until Emily.

Make it a double, please ~ An excerpt from 'Mission: Impossible to Love'

His plans to shout and demand were silenced by the sleepy, tousled woman. Her thick, straight hair hung loosely around her shoulders, making her look sexy and vulnerable. His eyes didn’t waver, but he had great peripheral vision to take in the way her pert nipples poked against the t-shirt.

“I’ll get a cup of coffee and be downstairs in a few minutes.”

“Go get changed.” Pissed at himself for allowing his mind to wander to the idea of how easy it would be to run his hand under the t-shirt, Sten’s order came out colder than he intended. “I’ll brew the coffee. Dean has a super fancy espresso machine.”

“Great. Make it a double, please. And I’m sorry that I missed our meeting. But once I have some caffeine, I’ll be good to go.”

He turned and walked to the kitchen, trying to understand his irrational reaction to this one woman. And how he ended up doing exactly the opposite of what he planned when it came to Izzy Benson. In addition to being her bodyguard, now he was her private barista. Shaking his head, he tried to close down the thoughts of what other roles he’d like to play for Izzy.

Why did you kiss me? ~ An excerpt from 'Mission: Impossible to Surrender'

“Why did you kiss me?”

Finn stepped back a step with Sophie following. It was always like this between them—Sophie pushing, never letting him slide. After the loss of his close SEAL team member, he returned home angry and bitter over another senseless loss. Sophie sensing his pain, wouldn’t allow him to wallow in his misery, drawing him out with her tender, probing concern. This confirmed everything he had been running from for years. Sophie was the only woman for him. Forced him to feel. Made him human.

“I was worried after what went down in Hong Kong that today might have triggered memories.”

“That was a kiss of concern?” Her lips pursed in a knowing half smile—a modern, curly-headed Mona Lisa.

Finn clenched his hands into fists and ground his teeth trying to not grab Sophie and kiss the amusement out of her voice. To finally show her exactly and explicitly how he felt about her.

Sophie circled her finger on his chest, not prodding but playing—playing with burning hell fire. “Sounds about right. Finn Jenkins kissing damsels in distress.”

He grabbed her finger, pressing her hand against his heart. He had a choice to lie, but he was tired of running, hiding, pretending. With CJNG coming after him, today might be his only chance. “No, Soph. Only you. It’s always been only you.”

Weather Delay ~ Excerpt from 'Mission: Impossible to Wed'

The sight of Lauren Harrison walking down the jetway was a sucker punch to his gut, a stunning beauty who had him riveted in place. She looked like a model from the magazine covers on display at the kiosks he’d just passed. She wore a bright-green fitted coat, and her glossy blond hair was twisted in a knot, emphasizing her delicate neck.

With Lauren unaware of his perusal, Gabe had time to take in her long, slim legs and her easy glide in high heels. She exuded sophistication—cool, untouchable—until she laughed. The sound was light and lyrical, and her full red lips lifted, making it impossible for him to look away.

The Wall Street-looking dude walking next to her looked at her as if she’d discovered the cure for cancer. By the way his shoulders and hips were angled toward Lauren, he was trying to get as close as possible. It was unclear if Lauren reciprocated. She was laughing and smiling, but her body language wasn’t open to the man. His training as an operator included CIA analysis of human behavior. Being another male played no part in reading the guy’s intentions as man on the make.

For no clear reason, he already didn’t like this dude, who seemed to feel the same way about Gabe when Lauren introduced them.

Gabe grabbed the bags out of Roger’s hands, wanting to minimize the time Lauren smiled at him.

Gabe gave Roger credit since he read Gabe’s male-speak message of “get lost.” Why he was behaving like an ass was beyond him. He barely knew Lauren. And hell, he was just doing his brother a favor.

“We should get to our gate. With the delay, we’re cutting it close. Is it far?” Lauren started walking.

“Our flight was canceled.”

She twisted fast, pivoting on her heels. “It can’t be. I have to get this dress to Tiffany. I promised.”

“What’s the rush? The wedding isn’t for two days.”

“I have to charter a flight.” She was already walking away, unaware that she was headed in the wrong direction.

He dodged a few distracted cell phone users to catch her. How could she move so fast in those stilts?

“Lauren,” he yelled after her. “The flight is canceled because of weather.”

Basso profundo. With deep tessitura. ~ Excerpt from 'Mission: Impossible to Forget'

Emily was having the best dream. Nick whispered to her, his musky male scent and warmth enveloping her in a cocoon of safety. She didn’t want this dream to end, but she already knew he would leave her alone and afraid.

“Emily. Wake up, honey.”

She moaned at the sound of his melodic bass voice— the rich and flawless tone resonated in his highly developed chest muscles.

“Emily.”

She lingered in the pleasure. “Basso profundo. With deep tessitura.”

“Honey, you’re dreaming about your music. Wake up.”

She reached for him, rubbing her hand along his rough stubble. It felt exactly as she remembered. “This dream feels so real. Kiss me, Nick. I want to feel your lips on mine.”

She felt his soft lips brush across hers. She opened her mouth, wanting to taste him. She’d never forget his tender and demanding kisses. “Please, Nick.”

“Emily, you need to wake up.” He used the rumbly sexy voice she liked.

Why was he insisting she wake when she was happy? She felt a rough hand on her arm. She opened her eyes, trying to orient herself. What tour…What hotel was this? Stella began licking Emily’s face.

“We need to get going.”

What was wrong? Nick’s voice had gone from soft to fortissimo loud.

“Emily, wake up.”

“Nick?” Her dream had conjured the real Nick.

“Yes. It’s Nick.” Now he sounded irritated. What had she done?
